Mission Study
Davis Hankins:    (Ph.D.; M.Div.) is an Assistant Professor at ASU where he teaches courses on biblical literature. Davis is married to Rev. Stephanie Hankins. They have two children, Miller (6) and Nathaniel (3). Davis occasionally teaches adult education classes and regularly teaches K-5 Sunday School at Rumple.
Jackie Kirkland:   joined the church with her family in 2006. Since then, they have all been active and attended church regularly. She has served as an elder, served on the Christian Ed. and the Fellowship Committee, and been a part of the Transition Team. Jackie and her family love Rumple and their church family very much. She feels called to be a part of the PNC and promises to serve prayerfully and respectfully on this committee for the future of our church.
Misty Mayfield, Chair:   married Mike in 2004 here at Rumple. After taking a Disciple Bible Study under Larry Lyon, it was confirmed that Rumple was the place God wanted her. Misty joined the Youth Committee in 2006, served as the chair in 2008, and traveled to the Dominican Republic with our youth in 2008. She served on the Session from 2009-2011. Most recently, she served on the DCE search committee. She currently serves on the Watauga County Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors as the Board Secretary and member of the Church Relations committee.
Ann Rhyne:    joined Rumple in 2008 after being a visitor and affiliate member for many years. She served on the Long Range Planning and Christian Education committees. Ann served on Session 2012-2014 and was liaison to the Christian Education Committee. She belongs to Circle 4 and has been very active in the Presbyterian Women serving as secretary and Co-Moderator and helped start the Church Mouse Program. She belongs to the Explorers Sunday School class.
Jane Rogers:    has been a life-long member of Rumple, born into the family of Rumple but it was her choice to stay with Rumple all these years. During her years at Rumple she has been part of the following activities and services: Sanctuary Choir; Handbell Choir; Congregational Care; Christian Education; Worship Committee (served as chair); Finance Committee (served as Chair); Scholarship Board (ex-officio member); Communion prep and set up; taught Adult Sunday School; served four times as a sitting elder; served as Clerk of Session for 26 years; chaired the Transition Committee after Larry Lyon's resignation; worked with the youth and mission opportunities; is an active member of Circle #1; and participated in the initial writing of the Manuel of Procedures.
Debora Smith:  has been a member of Rumple since 1999. She has served as chair of Stewardship Committee for two years, and a member of Christian Ed, Youth, Properties, and Congregational Care. She was Moderator of Presbyterian Women, a Circle member, and on the planning committee for the Fall Woman’s Retreat. She has taught Sunday School for many years. She directed Vacation Bible School 4 years and participated in many others. She has led youth mission trips to Mississippi and the Dominican Republic and Service Saturday. She has chaperoned at Montreat.  She maintained the Rumple webpage and was Slate and Stone editor.  She served on the Transition team following Larry's departure
Mike Steele:  is a graduate of ASU and came to Blowing Rock in December 1980 when he was hired to be the Director of Parks & Recreation. After meeting Becky, he began attending RMPC. He was baptized and became a member in 1981. Rumple has been part of his life ever since. In May 1982 Becky and Mike were married at Rumple. Both their children have been baptized and are members of RMPC. Mike have been honored to serve on the session twice and also served on the PNC that hired Larry Lyon. He has served as a member of the Youth Committee, Dunn Fund Group and Finance Committee, on which he currently serves. He was an original member of the Discussion Sunday school class and now participates and serves as one of the teachers for the Carter Lentz men’s class. He is currently self-employed as an Independent Certified Financial Planner
