Sanctuary Choir is directed by Evalyn Sudderth and accompanied by Laurie Nicholson. This group of high school youth and adults of all ages leads music in the 8:45 and 11:00am worship services each Sunday and provides music for special services throughout the year, such as Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Christmas Eve, Easter sunrise, and an Advent/Christmas music service of worship in mid-December. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 7:00 to 8:15 pm, except for Fellowship Supper nights (3rd Wed. at 6:30pm), when we begin rehearsal at 7:15pm to allow choir members time to eat dinner. Rumple Ringers, our handbell choir, is directed by Laurie Nicholson, and includes high school students and adults who play our 3 octave set of Malmark bells during worship services numerous times throughout the year. We rehearse weekly from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Child care is provided in our nursery area during rehearsals.
Koinonia Choir is directed by Laurie Nicholson and is for elementary-age children. This group is active in worship leadership throughout the year. The choir sings, plays handchimes, and enjoys drama. Koinonia takes the lead in putting together our Christmas musical each year. We rehearse Wednesdays during the school year from 2:45 to 4:30pm, with van pickup at Blowing Rock School at 2:30pm. ChoirPlus is led by Laurie Nicholson and parent/grandparent volunteers. This group enjoys an afterschool program on Thursdays from 2:45 to 4:30pm, this year for 1st and 2nd graders. Besides singing and moving to music, we enjoy craft activities, Bible stories and videos, snack time, and play time. We present a Christmas musical each year along with Koinonia Choir. |
