Children’s Church

Each Sunday during 11:00 worship, children ages K (or 5) through 2nd grade are invited to leave the sanctuary after “Time with the Children”. Bible and worship-related topics are explored through crafts, games, theme snack, singing, and stories. We have a gifted group of adult leaders who rotate this responsibility.

Children and Youth, Winter 2009

Infant/Toddler care (ages infant up to 2 yrs. old)

Preschool/Kindergarten (ages 2 – 5)

Early Elementary (K – 2nd grades)—Meets upstairs in the Butterfly Classroom (#3). Teachers: Laura Carter and Laurie Nicholson. Curriculum: Godly Play

Middle/High School (5th – 12th grades)—Meets in the Youth Cottage. Teacher: Caroline Bond.

Other opportunities for children and youth at Rumple:

• Children's Church: held during 11:00 worship (after "Time with the Children") in the Butterfly Classroom for K-2nd graders, led by a rotating group of adults.

• Youth activities/events on Friday evenings for middle and high school youth (sometimes meeting separately; occasionally the groups meet together for a joint activity).

• Parents' Night Out: sponsored by older youth for young children; held quarterly, usually on a Saturday from 5:00 to 8:00pm (next one is 2/23!)

• Koinonia (Middle School) Choir/Drama Team—Wednesdays, 2:45 – 4:30 pm. Van pickup at Blowing Rock School, 2:30 pm.

• ChoirPlus (K – 4th grade) program—includes music, crafts, story/playtime, on Thursdays, 2:45 – 4:30 pm.

• VBS--An annual themed Bible camp held daytime the third week in June.

• Various special retreats, outings, mission trips and youth conferences (such as Montreat) throughout the year.
