Festival of Artisans

October 6, 2007

On Saturday, October 6th, we successfully held the second Festival of Artisans on the grounds of our church.  A wonderful bake sale was displayed at the back of the Education Building; coffee, breakfast munchies and, later, hot dogs were sold on the front lawn of the church; and the Rumple House and yard were full of wonderful hand-made items for sale.

We had lots of shoppers; we lots of Rumple folks manning tents, working the food sales, and assisting with sales in the Rumple House.  Thanks to much planning and hard work on the part of the committees, everything went smoothly.  The many beautiful and unique items on sale were something to see.  It is hard to believe that we have the amount of talent evidenced by those items in Rumple Church.

The 2:00 p.m. auction was well-attended and very successful.  Again, there were many unique and beautiful things produced by us and expertly auctioned by our own Jimmy Jones and Cullie Tarleton.

As announced earlier in the year, the proceeds from the Festival, which are $17,500, will be distributed as follows:

$8,750 to Rumple's Capital Campaign                  $2,625 to the Hunger Coalition

2,625 to WeCan                                                  3,500 to Presbyterian Women

We thank everyone who was involved in this year's Festival of Artisans.  It is a collaborative effort and cannot be done without the support of so many of us.
