Christian Education

In our lives, and more importantly, as we grow in faith, we should never stop learning.  Rumple offers many opportunities for all ages to learn through Sunday School, small group Bible studies, and season-specific Bible studies throughout the year.

Children’s Church

Each Sunday during 11:00 worship, children ages K (or 5) through 2nd grade are invited to leave the sanctuary after “Time with the Children”. Bible and worship-related topics are explored through crafts, games, theme snack, singing, and stories.  We have a gifted group of adult leaders who rotate this responsibility.

Adult Classes, Fall 2007

Discoverers meet in the Session Room of Rumple House, located next door to the sanctuary building.  Adults of various ages enjoy discussion on a wide variety of topics, led by Syd Spainhour.  Currently, Discoverers are finishing up a study of Rick Warren's book, The Purpose Driven Life.  In early November, they will begin a new book; title to be announced soon!

Explorers meet in the Pine Cone Room of Rumple House, next door to the sanctuary building.  Taught on a rotating schedule by Diane Williams, Jane Rogers, Carolyn Nelson and Claudia Kelley, adults of various ages engage in an intensive and explorative study of the Bible, using different resources, from varying Bible translations to workbooks to commentaries.  After several years, they've progressed from Genesis to II Samuel, verse by verse!

Seasons and Seekers uses a creative curriculum called Seasons of the Spirit that is topical, based on the lectionary readings for each week and includes visual art as one component of the study.  The class meets upstairs in the Education Building (Room #2), with Dawn and Darrell Bare co-teaching.

The Men’s Class meets in the Rocking Chair Room of Rumple House, next door to the sanctuary building.  Fellowship is enjoyed prior to class with coffee and doughnuts.  This group also gives to community needs and the church’s scholarship program for youth.  In addition, they support special church projects and provide breakfast for the community after the Easter sunrise service each year—and for our Rally Day breakfast!  Curriculum:  David C. Cook Bible and Life Series.  Several of the members serve as teachers for the class during the year.

The Women’s Class meets in the Church Library, located near the lobby of the Education Building.  Known as a praying class and taught by Mary Lentz and Debra Shore, this diverse group of mature women (any age is welcome!) study the Bible using the David C. Cook Bible and Life Series.
